What I have to say about myself in the third person
"There are dreams of grandeur and dreams of enlightenment. In retrospect, grandeur probably would have been more profitable...
Paul's story started out in a residential part of Manila, in the Philippines. Having come from a troubled family background, his sole comfort lay in the few comic books he possessed. Night and day, he devoured every artwork, every drawing. His grades in art class were none too respectable, but his passion never wavered. Every corner of his notebooks were filled with drawings, sketches, squiggles, and general fascinations.
His passions took a back seat to reality as his dream of going to Art School was quickly overshadowed by the need to enter, what is deemed acceptable in the Asian community, a "real" career. His studies in Business Administration, and his eventual degree in Computer Science helped him gain a unique skillset.
Paul's persistence eventually landed him a job as a comic book assistant to Mike Vosburg, award-winning director of the Spawn animated series. He later landed work as a Layout Artist for the animated TV show "Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys." Eventually, Paul became part of the crew working on the acclaimed "The Rugrats Movie." During this time, he also did character concept art and toy design for several companies.
Paul has been doing various types of work ever since. He's done everything from storyboards, to background and character layouts, graphic designs for various companies and even web design work using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Flash. He continues to hone his skills by teaching himself through exploration and open-mindedness. His colorful background, coupled with a dedicated and honest work ethic, has contributed to his development as a person, and as an artist.
Paul also loves to sing at the top of his lungs while driving. Isn't it amazing how an act of freedom makes you so aware of how great life can be?"
